Part 1: Waiting Game

Good morning. Wow. This. Is. Surreal. I was smiling a lot more last night than I am this morning, but wow. I can't believe this day is finally here. Current Mood: Nervous & Emotional.

Short story: We got checked in last night, got the IV started and had the cervadril and had some sleeping meds so I slept like a baby. This morning WOW (the cervadril worked) so I'm feeling like it's the worst PMS cramps ever combined with mild contractions. Started the pitocin too. So now the waiting game has officially begin. I'm a huge baby, I'm not used to pain so even being mildly uncomfortable seems big to me. On the upside, my husband is a rock-star and has been a complete sweetheart...and my mom is on her way so we are on the up and up....Mom makes severything ok.

On another note: Today is going to annoy the crap out of me tv-wise. Yeah Obama and all that, I support the guy and I do want to watch the actual inauguration. But seriously? Do we HAVE to cover EVERY SINGLE TIDBIT of their day? I thought I was wanting E! or the Style network as 15 people diagnosed what Michelle will wear..But no, that was CNN and the TODAY show! Come on Matt Lauer, this is no journalistic reporting. They also covered what Miley Cyrus wore last night to some dinner...riveting. And really? Are we really ready to declare (the speech he hasn't even given yet) to Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg address? Overdramatic reporting drives me bananas. LATE BREAKING NEWS: Obama does not drink coffee...I'd rather be watching Zach Morris on Saved by the Bell reruns....

P.S. Having contractions about 3 minutes apart--just apparently I need them to get stronger and closer together.

P.S.S. The nurses here are sweethearts! Nurse Lauren just game in and asked us if we heard the screaming lady down the hall...apparently, the lady a few doors down just had her baby al'natural! (um yeah, no thanks).
