The sound of silence. It's 8:24am. Jason headed east to go check out some land with a realtor. Carson is STILL asleep (thank you baby). Kayla is outside. For this extremely brief moment, my world is still. I want to soak up these few precious minutes.
6 weeks from Monday--April 5th is the big day. I'm ready. I knew 2010 was going to be a semi-crazy year. Bring it. Lets get going. First priority as soon as I can drive from the c-section though will be bringing on the birth control.
Been a fun, albeit crazy few weeks. J has been traveling like crazy so been playing single mom during the week. Holy crap. New found respect for single moms. I do not know how they do it and I only have 1 munchkin!
Few snipets:
We took our babymoon trip last week to Barton Creek Resort in Austin for 4 glorious days of resort life. We shopped, SAW A MOVIE! (Crazy Heart = Very good), had facials, a massage, and ate like every 3 hours since really what else can I do? It was fabulous. I forget how ugly Dallas is until I get out of town, man Austin is beautiful.
Funny pics are always more interesting to me than 'good' pics and I put good ones on Facebook since I'm not sure random folk I haven't seen in 15 years would get my sense of humor...But we had a great time at the Dallas Petroleum Club Ball again. Not quite as elaborate as in prior years, but over the top just the same (you see, those poor oil & gas folk are feeling the recession---or not based on the amount of bling & minks there- who owns a mink in Dallas that wasn't inherited from your great-grandmother? I mean really?) 'Pure Romance' was this years theme...the entire evening screamed prom complete with floating white candles, mirrors everywhere, and violins playing. There might have even been a fog machine. Had a great time though, I do love dressing up, even 7 months preggo and sporting a double-chin.
Shout out to Christin for the amazing dress. How convenient is it that one of my BFFs owns a maternity clothing store and just happens to carry ball gowns? Shop Pickles & Ice Cream and her newest kids boutique Divas & Dudes in Edmond.
Carson is a mess, she is talking non-stop now. Or maybe chattering is the better word, but I can make out a lot of her baby babble--'baby', 'thank you', 'wiggle', 'roar' (what does a lion say?), and her favorite 'bye-bye daddy'. She loves to 'sing' with you and talk over you when you're on the phone. Favorite toys are the iphone and any remote control she can get her hands on. A playroom FULL of new toys and all she wants is the tv remote. She'll hit a button then look up(although impressive to me she knows what it does.)
Happy Weekend!
