Fall.

Fall. Football. The Fair. Pumpkins at the Arboretum. Being Outside. Being Young.
I can't help the feelings that fall brings out in me. Fall will always bring me back to being a kid and going to Coweta High School football games with mom & dad. Begging for popcorn money, chasing boys behind the bleachers, thinking about beautiful the cheerleaders were. Dad always stood near the field house with Dennis and Terri Tissue and I was always the proud ring leader to march my group of friends around the field to have a reason to get closer to the actual players. At the time, I didn't understand the significant of cheering for the Coweta Tigers on Friday, Sooners on Saturday, and Cowboys on Sunday. I thought they were all the same league and it took me years to understand why they didn't play each other. I remember Amy Craig in 5th grade trying to explain that her dad (he still is a great coach) was as big of deal as Barry Switzer and Barry stops by 'all the time'. I used to think Barry and the Boz would walk through those field house doors at any time.

In high school I was drinking hot cappacino in the stands being rowdy with Brandi/Lisa/Kasey/Shelby/and whatever homemade noise contraption we concocked that day (you see that was kind of a season of the great divide between Jo/Lenice and me, I was a SENIOR, THEY were Juniors you see). So glad to proudly wear Shawn's letter jacket and waiting for him by that same field house after the game.  Even more proud when I was Homecoming Queen in the middle of that very same field I grew up for 12 years going to every home game. I loved high school and in particular I love those memories of being a very naive small town Oklahoma girl, complete with fluffy hair.

It feels like a Toby Keith song, but the fall always takes me back to 'the day'. And I am so blessed I have those memories I want to go back to in my mind this time of year.

So Highlights from our Fall.

It's become an annual tradition of sorts that the guys take the kids and watch a few games togther. On the left we have the CHicks/Andujars from this year. On the right we have last year, I had to look at the picture more than once to realize the bald A&M girl was Caroline!! The difference in a year..

This is a very significant picture. The girls in front of THE Big Tex. Before he died on 10/19. RIP Big Tex Original. I know Big Tex Junior is going to be better than ever. However, Jr. will never know the significant of 'HOWDY FOLKS' quite the same way.

Annual Fun at the Fair Moments from 2012..

The Pumpkin Patch at the Aboretum is a given to every Dallasite.

I adore every minute of time with my dad. Carson wanted to sit there.

Best attempt of getting everyone to smile at the camera.

This is more like what 90% of my pictures end up looking like.Someone crying, usually Carson, and no one actually looking at the camera.
