It's the cream of the fight Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger...da da dum...da da dum...
Yes, folks I believe today called for the big guns. Not since Beau Bradshaw his sophomore in year high school have I pulled harder for someone to make weight..
Little munchkin had dropped the allotted 10% of her body weight (weighing in at 7.5) and since Monday I have been trying vigorously to put weight on my baby (they want her to be back to her birth weight by her 2 week check up)...Through it all we endured lots of spit-ups, numerous dirty diapers, a fussy baby at 3am, 3 trips to the lactation specialist....and today at 2:00 was the moment of truth: Will I have to supplement? Will she make the weight? Of the 11 ounces needed, where are we??
My mom (trainer name Nana) was my accomplice to the dr at high 2:00 today. I broke out in a cold sweat and I prayed for my daughter not to take a last minute poo to decrease her weight..Lactation BFF Pat looked on as I stripped my daughter down....and off to the scales we went....
She weighed in at a GLORIOUS 7.826!! Still 8 ounces from our needed goal for next week, but frankly 3 ounces in 2 days is pretty impressive (we were stalled at Wednesday's visit). I think it took another 20 minutes and a game of freeze out in the car on the way home for my cold sweats to actually stop.
We are sporting yet another obnoxious giant hair bow today. Yes, I am that mom. If you don't like it, please take it out on me not her. She can't control what I'm doing to her.

Oh how I remember that feeling! Good ol' Billy Rubin or whatever that is called. I thought both boys had nice olive skin until someone told me it was jaundice. Somehow they both made it up to birth weight at 2 weeks, but not without a lot of blood, sweat, and tears! :) Welcome to mommyhood! You are doing great! & Carson is too cute with her big bows. Love em! (of course she is cute without the big bows too!)
Love the little bowhead!!! Very glad to hear about the gain, too. She looks awesome!
She is just two cute for words! and the bigger the bow the better has always been my motto. They have tiny heads you need a big bow. Congratulations on the weight gain the stress, the waking them up just to eat, shoving your, ahem, parts in their face 24/7, is all worth it at that two week mark!
You are doing great and it just will keep on getting better and better. Carson is such a cutie and I can't wait to meet her and see you and Jason of course!
I'm going to start calling her little Aretha, Just Kidding! She's adorable and your right, i think she does have your button nose and mouth....
I glad the little muffin made weight! I was cracking up reading it. I love the bows! I don't think you'll have anyone mistaking her for a boy. Keep the pictures and posts coming!
