The Love of My Life

I'm so incredibly in love. What a past 24 hours this has been! See pics above! First off, finishing up the drama from yesterday...Around 2:00pm, after 7 hours of labor resulted in absolutely no movement from the little muffin and only mild contractions we discovered she was sunny-side up (head facing up instead of towards my back) and didn't want to shift. My doctor gave me 2 options:
1. Go home and try again tomorrow to see if she shifts.
2. Lets get going on a c-section.
Seriously, why is this even a question?? Clearly people, like who does that? I mean leave the hospital after 7 hours of uncomfortableness/IV/pitocin/cervadril?
Yeah right.
So around 4:00, I was completely prepped and being wheeled into surgery. Jason was all scrubbed up (see pics, he felt so ER in his scrubs..). I made nervous, stupid jokes. Nurses try to make small talk. Jason is just like 'Please don't let me see anything below the curtain'...Fast forward not even 10 minutes and at 4:09 I hear the most beautiful noise in the whole-wide world---a very loud screaming voice.
The first thing my doctor says is 'Wow look at that head of hair!'. I was pretty shocked, I was half-bald until I was 2. My daughter has a full-head of dark brown hair. I was more shocked about that than anything. (Well that and, I was also high as a kite from the drugs so not sure I could concentrate on anything else).
Little Carson weighed in at exactly 8 pounds and was 19 inches long. And was absolutely the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
Come to find out, a c-section was inevitable. She actually was laying sideways and the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck so I could've pushed for 10 more hours and it would have ended the same..
I feel great this evening! I took a shower, walked around, got some great pain meds..I was pretty exhausted until mid-afternoon today when I finally was able to sleep. I was so in awe last night and doped up and trying to breastfeed that I was super exahausted this morning.
Also, there has never been any doubt that I absolutely adore my husband but I have fallen even more in love with him at the way he is with our daughter. He's going to be such a great dad, I was moved to tears this morning just watching him with her. He's just so gentle and hands on and just so all about her. Just something about seeing the guys turn to mush with their daughters. And to top it all off on that note-My baby girl looks just like her daddy.

Hey, I've been catching up on your posts. I'm glad everything went well, and quite fast it seems, with Carson's birth. She is a beautiful girl!

Tell Jason that real dads turn to mush easily around their daughters, something he is already experiencing.
