Indeed my friend. Indeed. I did it. (Carson's says that all the time, actually whenever she does anything). Bucket list item checked. I did my first sprint triathlon at the Cooper Sprint Tri on OU/TX weekend in McKinney. I found it fitting for this event to have been on such a sacred weekend...I am actually doing the OU body signal and thanking the good Lord above that there is only about 1 mile left when this pic was taken....

What actually made this event so special though, was the fact that Lenice & I set out to do it together. This was a total first for both of us and our nerves were absolutely fried the 2 days leading up. Even better was that Meridith was also doing it, it's not quite so scary when 2 of your closest friends are there too...
First up: Swimming. I'm in the red cap, she's in the white.

Next up: Biking. My absolute biggest fear. It's not the distance, the speeds scare me to death. I knew it would be my worst event since going over 17mph gives me a heart attack. It was a hard 12 miles though with the wind and 'gentle' rolling hills What freakin' hill is gentle?? Love that Powell was posing in the pic with me.

Here's the before shot, we are still so naive about the next 90 minutes to come....

and the post shot: Meridith, Lenice & I.

It was a awesome weather day and meant so much to me that my dad & Beckey were there to support us, along with Julie & Royce, and the Powells. It really pumps you up when you are kinda dragging and I was so nervous! I was very very happy with my finish time of 1:25 as I hit my goal time of just actually completing it! But I think I'll stick to running for a while...
Bucket list item. Check.
