So reading this book by Ann Voskamp called 1,000 Gifts. I rarely ever make statements like 'This changed my life!'. But. This changed my life.
Brief Summary: This chick lives on a farm in south Canada with 6 kids and home schools. In my opinion, her life sucks. No yard guy, no pool guy, no maid to help. But she finds beauty in the ordinary. Common everyday experiences and finds the blessing. It's perspective changing and honestly, it has changed my view on life.
She challenges you to start a gratitude journal of 1,000 gifts in your own life. She's a true 'stop and smell the roses' view.
My entry for today looked like this:
1. I am grateful that my 3 year old daughter calls swimsuits---Swim Scoops. And ketsup, catch-kup. I want to embed that in my brain.
2. My mentor mom and bible study leader Jane Rooker. She was meant to be in my life.
3. Laundry detergent that smells good. and along with that...3.a--Fabreeze. Man it smells good.
